Jerry and Betty Temple

Construction, Inc. "Note here that the exterior walls are actually plywood, and not particle board!" He was especially proud of how Al Baker and wife Jan had taken their initial ideas, and incorporated them into a liveable floor plan, even with the difficulties inherent in building on their odd-shaped lot. "We had all sorts of difficult obstacles to overcome with this piece of land," Jerry stated. Like elevations and topographies that presented problems with the well and septic system. "Al and Jan Baker really worked hard to make this all work for us," it took several design iterations before floor plans and lot placement were completed." When Betty arrived, we talked about how the design process evolved. Betty states, "I am not the kind of person who wanted to pick out door knobs and lighting fixtures. Jan Baker is a designer with great insight, deep creativity, and an awareness of allowances, always bringing us the very best choices of materials. Jan kept bringing tile samples, or taking me to see new materials that would provide a better look, all at an even better price," says Betty.

Jerry Temple met me at the door. Host in his own beautiful, modest, yet elegant home that sits back on a precarious lot in Placitas, New Mexico. Right away, he asked me into his office, and asked me to have a seat. He opened up his computer, and showed me a slide show of the entire building process involved from ground breaking through move-in. As he led me through his photographic tour, he pointed out all the special little details of his home-building experience with Al Baker of Total Systems

Both ultimately agreed that Total Systems Construction, Inc. was the right choice for their custom home builder.  The Temples had acquired the lot individually, and interviewed several builders prior to choosing Al and Jan Baker to handle the design and building of their home. Jan Baker worked diligently on bridge loans and financing to get the project started and on its way. Jerry and Betty said the entire process was "a painless experience, full of pleasant surprises, where they and the Bakers really formed the very best of relationships. The Temples have fond memories of a flawlessly pleasant building experience with Al and Jan Baker of Total Systems Construction, Inc.
